BOOK BLITZ| TRAIN TO THE EDGE OF THE MOON

Train to the Edge of the Moon
Asper Blurry
Publication date: October 28th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult

Punk is no ordinary millennial who takes the life as it is. She has a nasty habit of getting in troubles, she shows the middle finger to prejudice and stupidity, she fights against her broken identity and darkness of her soul. She goes against the stream with her heavy, tight shoes, but she still tries to be a better person. Punk’s adventurous journey to become someone who matters starts in a Place Without a Name, continues in Italy and London. Her train is full of sad reflections, laughs, modern tales about our young lives, relationships and occasional heartbreaks.

“Train to the Edge of the Moon” is about all shades of the young people reality – struggles with career, romances, feeling lost in the corporate machinery, feeling misunderstood and rejected by society. It’s funny, it makes you laugh and in the next moment it gets sad and dark and you want to crawl in the corner and cry a little. It also raises controversial issues such as addictions, depression, and abuse. Those who have been beaten down, trampled over and nearly robbed of everything that makes them who they are, those who refuse to adapt and be another brick in the wall in the modern mayhem will find here hope and strength to fight for their happiness and peace of soul.

Imagine “Girl, interrupted” partying up with the older “Catcher in the Rye” and immerse your curiosity in Punk’s wild adventures.

London 2015

Weak raindrops were pouring down her leather jacket. It was raining every day lately, and she missed the warmth of Italian sun. Yet Punk couldn’t leave London just like that. It wasn’t just some place for her. She considered London to be a he. A breathing creature with his virtues, weaknesses and vices. His violent dynamism was intoxicating. It would bring her joyful moments of light mixed with deep secrets of a black soul. At first, his huge size and activity caused her dizziness and it took her a while to adjust.

Punk was waiting for them in front of the Oxford Circus tube. Her long, brown hair was tangled by the strong wind. These days it wouldn’t allow her to breathe consciously. A frozen glimmer of the sun appeared on the gray sky, buried behind the dark clouds. But no one bothered to spot it happening above the vivid city life. Punk was like a single shadow that ran within the turmoil of passing strangers on Oxford Street. Quick and invisible like a current of the wild river.

Sometimes the wave of London’s beauty would throw her into unknown dangerous waters, sinking her with anxiety and astonishment. The city is very demanding. He doesn’t want you. He wants all of you; pushing you inside his unique core of riot. And if you’re not strong or confident enough he will spit you out like a piece of used shred. He will devour all your vigor, leaving you with naked ass hid in the bushes.

Punk resembled London in many ways. But she couldn’t stay alive like he did. She could feel life only through glass. It made her hungry and eager to try and live it all. Mostly in homelessness and detachment.

Yet when she saw her two lovers emerging from the stream of dim sunlight a delicate glow covered her pale cheeks. It looked like a smile. She was less scared now after all they’d been through, but she still couldn’t get used to feeling this way.

Someone said she was beautiful and untouchable. So where did all this ugliness come from? Was it her illusion? Was it their notion? Was it even real?

Author Bio:

Asper Blurry is a writer, poet, thinker, seeker, traveler and much more. She often finds herself in places of different dimensions and cruel whispers, far from the dreamland. But that’s the price she pays for her creations and she keeps writing because of this artistic force inside her heart and mind.

Her voice is genuine, blunt and raw, sometimes poetic and mysterious. She writes freely about our ordinary life and the reality of modern, young people. She’s not afraid of addressing controversial issues such as addictions, depression and intolerance. She’s convinced that if her writing touches your soul or makes you feel something, all those nights spent in the darkness on the other side will be worth it.

(Badlands, #1)
Publication date: January 24th 2018
Genres: Erotica, Romance

Calista

“I am the monster they created. I’m the whore they’re ashamed of.”

When life tried to break me I grabbed that b*tch by the throat and squeezed.

I thought I could overcome anything. I swore I could handle him, but after being forced to play at the Devil’s playground I ended up craving his touch.

One taste of his poison made my loyalties begin to waiver.

Romero

“I’m a living nightmare, I’m everything they fear.”

I’ve been called the Devil, deranged, and a savage. I lived by a code created by rebel souls. We were sinners and thieves that made no apologies for taking whatever the f*ck we wanted. Saving a girl in the woods was never part of my plans, but when I saw the crazy in her eyes I knew it was a match made in hell.

Now secrets are piling up, the bodies are rotting, and time is running out to finish what I started.

Forewarning, our story is more than a little f*cked up.

Authors Note:

I am not going to put a long ‘trigger warning’ on this book. I will say that Savages is a VERY cautionary tale that has no regard for hard limits. Reader discretion IS highly advised. <–18+

His car.

EXCERPT:

Then Zander’s gaze turns back to me, and I don’t feel so warm and fuzzy toward him anymore. Instead, I feel as though I’m facing a judge and ready to hear the verdict on just how many years I’m about to be thrown in jail.

“You stole my car,” he growls.

“Yes.” No point denying it.

“You kidnapped my twelve-year-old brother.”

“Technically, yes. However, I wasn’t aware he was in the car at the time,” I pathetically try to defend my actions.

“You came back, though, even after I told you I was calling the police.” His stance is stern, but I see the same expression of curiosity that I saw earlier in Van.

“Yes.” I glance around again, waiting to see the flashing lights of a police car approaching in the distance. Instead, I see a lone officer in uniform approaching us.

I don’t recognize him as one of Brian’s friends, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hand me over to him.

I barely even got to enjoy my freedom away from Brian. Well, it technically wasn’t freedom since I was chased the entire time.

Why can’t I just catch a break?

I can’t stop myself from stepping away from the young officer, my body back to being tense and shaky. I hate that this feels normal to me now. It never used to be. Now it feels strange to feel relaxed.

“What’s wrong?” Van asks me, his concern sweet.

“Excuse me, but did I just hear you accuse this woman of stealing your car?” the officer asks, swinging his hand to rest on his side arm in what looks like a reflex.

Silence falls over us. Van looks as panicked as I feel. I can’t read Zander’s face, but he hasn’t confirmed the man’s words. That gives me a small amount of hope. Maybe he is the most forgiving man in the world.

Review | A-List Temptation

36246822A-List Temptation (Bad Boys of Hollywood)

by April Fire (Goodreads Author)Mayhem Cover Creations (Illustrator)

Can true love exist between Hollywood royalty and a below-the-line nobody?
Hollywood makeup artist Dina Jacobs desperately needs an escape from the LA hustle, with its flimsy relationships, constant back-stabbing, and endless ladder climbing. She hopes taking a job on an indie-shoot halfway across the country might be just what she needs. The slow, small-town pace of lovely Devina would be perfect, except for one thing – the director of the this little indie project is none other than A-list actor, and prolific Lothario – Will Derry.
Forced to work closely with a man she’s had a fantasy crush on for years, Dina soon realizes that there’s more to the Hollywood icon than just his looks and bad-boy reputation. To her shock the celebrity bachelor seems to be more focused on her than he does the work in front of him and his camera. Will’s attentions soon intensify, as he becomes more distracted by his new crush.
Sensing jealous glares from the cast and crew, and not wanting to have her career marred with a reputation as a trouble-maker, Dina is forced to brush off Will’s advances, despite her yearning for a more intimate escalation of their relationship.
Can Dina resist Will’s growing advances, or will she risk the chance that she might just be another A-lister’s romantic conquest?

My Review

Oh Wow!  Great book!

What would you do if  your Hollywood teenage crush made the moves on you?  Well that is exactly what happened to Dina in this book.  Will Derry, Hollywood’s Playboy heart-throb actor tries his hand at directing.  Will is tired of the acting scene.  The parties the women and the fake smiles.  He decides that he wants to direct a film and take a break from the acting.  What he does not expect is to be hit with feelings when he comes face to face with Dina.  Feelings he has never had before.  How does he deal with this when she runs away every chance she gets.

Dina did not expect Will to put the moves on her.  That is exactly what he did though and she can’t help but think that she will be another notch on his post.  So what does she do?  She runs.  She is terrified of the feelings this man causes.  But  she has to be strong and deny it, otherwise she will have her heart-broken.

I really enjoyed the layout of this story and how it flowed.  It was a steady paced read with enjoyable main characters.  It does not really focus much on other characters though.  I would have liked to have seen more on that front.  The chemistry between these two is electric.  I enjoyed the push and pull of the story.   It had me hooked and I had to keep reading to see if it would be a happy ending or not.

This is the first book by April Fire that I have read and I did enjoy it.   So much so that I will check out more books by her.  I recommend this book for a cozy read.  But be warned  it will have you hot and bothered before it is over.

MY REVIEW

OMG!!!  I loved this book even more than the first one Perfect Sense.  This story was wonderful.  I loved how everything comes together and unwraps.  Quinn and Cash really do overcome the odds that are against them.  It was a great ending to the first book.

The first book Perfect Sense left off  with Quinn leaving Cash in the airport with a parting shot of “Your dead to me.”  and goes to Boston.  She is broken and has nothing else to do but to put the pieces back together one at a time.  So that she does.  She attends her classes at Harvard and makes some new friends and starts to move on with Aiden.  But she truly never gets over Cash.

When an accident sends Cash to the hospital and Quinn as his emergency contact is forced to face him again, she is conflicted more now than ever.  But can he be forgiven.  Cash hides so many secrets and that is what tore them apart in the first place.  Will they be able to fix things?

This book is such an emotional read.  Cash really has some huge demons to battle.  Quinn is so vulnerable and hurt.  She really is such a strong woman  dealing with Cash’s demons, when she has some of her own.  I love the chemistry between them from the start, even though I thought of Cash as a total asshole.  His ego was the size of Texas.  He really did disgust me.  But wow how he overcomes the odds.

I loved Amanda’s layout and how she had the story flowing flawlessly.  She gradually builds things back up with the characters and doesn’t just throw them back together.  She took her time telling their story and developing them as characters.  She even throws in a big twist that will have you going OMG! No that can’t happen.  She will have you mad, laughing and crying simultaneously.  A wonderful story of love, guilt and hate.  I highly recommend this book.  Be sure to read Perfect Sense first or you will be lost.
