Their dark secret could destroy her family
When Abbie Rambally meets the couple next door for the first time, she’s convinced something isn’t right. Why are the Paynes so fascinated with her oldest son and why do they ask so many probing questions about him? Then Abbie’s loyal and dependable nanny quits without giving notice, and Jenna Payne is only too happy to step in and help out. But Abbie begins to suspect that the Paynes’ choice of neighborhood was no accident.
Though Abbie wants to believe she can trust her neighbors, too many things about the couple don’t add up. So when a stranger in a café calls Jenna by a different name and insists they’ve met before, one thing becomes clear. If Abbie doesn’t uncover what the Paynes are hiding, her family will be in terrible danger.
From an award-winning author comes the latest installment in the “gripping and powerful” Fearless Series. This nail-biting psychological thriller can be read as a stand-alone, and will leave you breathless until the final, jaw-dropping twist.
What a great read! I wish I would have read them from the beginning, but I was able to follow along the story pretty well. But having the background story would have made it all the better.
Abbie is finally able to live life freely and is working hard towards her goal of getting her PHD. But everything she believed to be true and done comes back to haunt her the dat the Payne family moves in the neighborhood. There is something familiar about them or a bit off, but Abbie cannot put her finger on it. Then Lucas disappears. Now Abbie won’t stop at nothing to bring home her son.
This book was a twisted story, full of deception. You cannot put this book down. The story flowed freely and smoothly. It seems the author was able to build up her story in previous books allowing it to continue on without a break in the story. I was able to keep up with the characters and place them in a timeline.
The characters are strong and very in-depth. Leaves you wondering what is in store for this group next. I believe there is some unfinished business. Maybe a few more secrets.
If you like a good mystery, with strong characters and adrenaline, then this book is perfect for you. But I suggest beginning with book one.
