About TAKE IT OFF THE MENU:
Saying “I Do” has never been such a mess. Marlee Medford just got dumped. Yes, things have become ho-hum in her longtime relationship, but she was two days away from walking down the aisle with the man she thought was her forever when he called it off. Convincing herself that they’d be able to reignite their spark once the wedding craziness settled? That was easy. Suddenly finding herself without a fiancé? Not so much. Marlee needs to regain control of her life, and a weekend away with her friends is a solid first step. One of Denver’s best up-and-coming chefs, perpetual bachelor Eli Howard, isn’t into serious relationships–especially the kind that ends in marriage. As if to prove his point that they aren’t worth the trouble, the wedding he was supposed to be catering just fell apart. Feeling oddly protective of the jilted bride–his little sister’s best friend–his weekend plans now involve a trip to Sin City with her group of friends. But it looks like he had a bit too much fun in Vegas when he wakes up married…wedding night included. Marlee’s attempts at getting her life back together are failing miserably. Her ex-fiancé is taking the house, her chihuahua is intent on a love affair with Eli’s sneakers, and she’s now accidentally hitched to the guy who can’t even say the word marriage. With their quickie annulment denied, Eli and Marlee just have to hang tight until the divorce goes through. It’s just a little divorce amongst friends, what’s the worst that could happen?
Marlee just got dumped. In the worst way….two days before her wedding. Yep! Horrible. Her fiance` Peter decides two days before that he doesn’t want to get married. Now he has her house, her work place and worst of all her parents. What more does he want. He has literally taken over her life and left her to rot.
With the help of her friends and their guardian Ben, Sadie’s brother, she packs her things and leaves. What do you do when you are down? Let your friends talk you into a trip to Vegas. What starts as a dare turns into a marriage. Man what happens in Vegas sure is going to follow Marlee home.
Ben is a chef with a dream of opening his own restaurant. He has worked hard with his own catering business for years and finally has almost all the down payment saved up. But what happens in Vegas could be the roadblock to his future. Why oh why did he not stick to his plan of solitude.
When two people with a soul connection like Ben and Marlee come together, it is an epic show. These two have such amazing chemistry. I loved Marlee from the start. She is a beautiful person, inside and out. She is caring, loving and adorable. She has bright personality and witty sense. Putting others before herself always.
Ben is a hot chef. He could cook for me any day in just an apron. “wink wink” I love how the book portray his character. A loner, yet not really. He always puts others before himself and never asks anything in return. Even when he needs help, he refuses to ask. I like how loyal he is to his family and their friends. He is a wonderful and caring man.
This book is a beautiful story of friends to lovers. It has a tale of overcoming your fears and putting your best foot forward. It has amazing, fun and witty characters. The story flows so nice and smooth, causing the readers to get attached and do the “just one more chapter” spill. You are sure to enjoy this rom-com. I highly suggest picking up a copy today.
