Addison Greyer knows better.

Or at least she should.

Never in a million years would she have guessed she’d wind up agreeing to the sinister side-gig her tough-as-nails new boss proposes.

Until she does.

Turns out, one bad decision often leads to another.

He’s troubled.

She’s married.

It’s a dangerous game, for sure—one in which she stands to lose the most. Soon, she learns desire is not only dangerous but deadly and there’s a price to be paid for her mistakes.

A pound of flesh.

Never in a million years would she have guessed how far her picturesque little suburban life would unravel.

Until it does.

She should have known better.

Too bad she didn’t.

My Review

I want to start off by saying that the Bedrock series is highly addictive.  This book had me hooked from page one.  It is a highly intense read that is full of betrayal, love, danger and seduction.  Wow!  I mean I really went into this thinking that it would be just another sexy book, but this is that and so much more.  With the way the book starts out, your like holy shit.  What happened?  What the hell is going on?  And that my friends is what hooks you right there.  Brilliant!!!  Brittney King is a book god!!!

So this first book is the intro to an amazing trilogy call Bedrock.  And what an introduction it is.  It gives you the back ground of how our main character Addison Greyer came to be in the position she is in.  She is in a marriage that seems to be going downhill slowly.  She feels as if she is losing a bit of her self everyday.  All she wants to do is get a piece of her self back.  With all of life’s decisions, she can’t  seem to make a good one.  It all started that fateful day in the elevator.  Her whole life was turned upside down in an instant.

Now you are like well…what else?   Well I really don’t want to tell you too much, because I feel it will take away from the story.  But believe me when I say this book is intense.  The book is a steady pace with very interesting characters and an even more unique story line.  You as the reader will be drawn into the world that is Bedrock and you will not be disappointed.  This book is full of drama at the highest level.  There are some dark secrets and lies.  The betrayal runs deep.  The danger level is high and as well as the demand.

This book review comes with a warning:  It is highly addictive. (So be prepared)  This is a high paced thriller.  With some dark scenes that will make your skin crawl.  Definitely not a book for the squeamish.  The characters are intense and edgy.  Your emotions will run high and you will be on the edge of your seat.  Biting your nails one minute and pulling your hair out the next.  I immediately started book 2 Breaking Bedrock, as soon as I turned the last page in book 1 and I am still hooked.  It was 2 am and I still did not want to put it down.  Agghhh!!!!  Move over Mr. Grey there is a new alpha in town.

So if you like dark tales and are not easily offended or faint of heart then this book is perfect for you.  I promise you will love every minute of it.

About Britney King

Britney King lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, children, two dogs, one ridiculous cat, and a partridge in a pear tree.

When she’s not wrangling the things mentioned above, she writes psychological, domestic and romantic thrillers set in suburbia.

Currently, she’s writing three series and several standalone novels.

The Bedrock Series features an unlikely heroine who should have known better. Turns out, she didn’t. Thus she finds herself tangled in a messy, dangerous, forbidden love story and face-to-face with a madman hell-bent on revenge. The series has been compared to Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, and Basic Instinct.

The Water Series follows the shady love story of an unconventional married couple–he’s an assassin–she kills for fun. It has been compared to a crazier book version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Also, Dexter.

Around The Bend is a heart-pounding standalone, which traces the journey of a well-to-do suburban housewife, and her life as it unravels, thanks to the secrets she keeps. If she were the only one with things she wanted to keep hidden, then maybe it wouldn’t have turned out so bad. But she wasn’t.

The With You Series at its core is a deep love story about unlikely friends who travel the world; trying to find themselves, together and apart. Packed with drama and adventure along with a heavy dose of suspense, it has been compared to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Love, Rosie.

The Social Affair is an intense standalone about a timeless couple who find themselves with a secret admirer they hadn’t bargained for. For fans of the anti-heroine and stories told in unorthodox ways, the novel explores what can happen when privacy is traded for convenience. It is reminiscent of films such as One Hour Photo and Play Misty For Me.
