Happy Release Day to Summer Cooper!!! Check out my review on her new book Billionaire Retreat……..
“Don’t mind me. I don’t know how to flirt. I’m pretty terrible at anything that comes before foreplay.” I opened my mouth and then closed it, not sure what to say. I blurted, “Um…I have no plans to sleep with you.” He arched an eyebrow, “Maybe not now, but eventually.” His words conjured up images that made me blush. “Wow, you’re arrogant,” I managed to say. Griffin shrugged and my fingers itched to touch his broad, sexy shoulders. “Some call it arrogance. I call it honesty.” Nina Charles is an actress, struggling to find herself and her way in sunny L.A. After nonstop bad luck, she’s relieved when she finally lands a gig as an entertainment specialist for an exclusive, private resort. She promptly realizes that the resort caters to rich men looking for a wild time. And that her role as an entertainment specialist, there to meet the “needs” of the guests, isn’t exactly the role of a lifetime. But she’s intrigued when she’s paired with reclusive billionaire Griffin Wallace. A tech guru with a hard body, sharp wit, and beautiful eyes, Nina quickly finds herself falling for him. But when their fantasy world ends abruptly, can Nina and Griffin figure out a way to be with each other or will misunderstandings and secrets prevent them from building a future together?
OMG! This book was amazing!!! I could not put it down. I think this may be one of Summer Cooper’s best books that I have read yet. I am a new fan of hers and I have to say she just keeps impressing me with each book I read.
In this book Nina leaves behind her Georgia roots and is in LA living with her gay cousin Kenny, trying to become an actress/model. Kenny sets her up to do a swimsuit audition and talks her into wearing a really hot swimsuit. As Nina waits in line forever for the interview, she finds herself embarrassed, because she waited in the wrong line and was half-naked for a resort job interview instead. With all the confusion she leaves and almost gets hit by a car. Her rescuer is Griffin Wallace, and IT billionaire. He is the most beautiful man she has ever seen. She pulls herself together, thanks him for rescuing her and bids him farewell never to see again.
Nina gets a phone call from the resort the next day offering her a job as a “camp counselor” to the extremely wealthy for a week. Seeing as she has no job and needs rent money she accepts the position. Upon arrival to the resort she discovers that she is really playing a glorified entertainer to an eccentric billionaire, basically she is being paid to keep company. When she meets her billionaire for the weekend, her jaw drops. Her company to keep for the weekend is Griffin, her knight in shining armor.
Girffin is at his cousin Richard’s retreat to celebrate his brother Jackson’s upcoming marriage. They are there for a last hoorah bachelor party weekend. Griffin does not like being there or his brother’s friends, but that all changes the moment his eyes land his assigned date. It is the sexy brunette that his driver almost hit and he is determined to make her his.
As sparks fly and Nina’s attraction grows, she trys to not spend any alone time with him. But then her plan fails and they fall into bed and she falls in love. The next morning she wakes to an empty bed and Jackson knocking on the door to tell her he has left. Hurt and betrayed she storms away. Will they ever knock down the huge wall of lies and deceit that is there to keep them apart?
Griffin and Nina have such a strong mesmerizing chemistry between them. I was hooked on them from the moment they met, butterflies in my tummy and all. The story of them is tragic and heartbreaking, but you can’t help but hold out hope for them. The characters in the book are highly entertaining and you can’t help but love most of them. I highly recommend this book. You will not regret it.
I give this book 5 Hearts of Love
